April McClain Delaney Leads by 15% in Latest Poll
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Congresswoman April McClain Delaney continues to hold a significant lead against Republican mega-donor billionaire David Trone in MD-06, according to a recent poll by Hart Research Group. Conducted from May 16 to May 19, the survey shows McClain Delaney with a 15-point lead.
Trone, who spent record-breaking sums on his failed 2024 Senate race, continues to dump astonishing amounts into advertising overflowing with lies, but voters aren’t buying it.
In the May poll, McClain Delaney leads 49% to 34%, building on March and April polls that also showed her with a similar, decisive advantage. Trone’s campaign has not released any polling during the race.
“Trone’s weak standing in the district explains why he has resorted to a divisive, negative campaign full of lies,” said McClain Delaney campaign manager Nick London. “Congresswoman April McClain Delaney has built a significant lead from a fraction of Trone’s spending because she shows up and does the work to deliver on the issues that matter to Marylanders. Trone’s obsession with sidelining a strong, successful, and popular woman leader and mom representing Maryland’s 6th District is an ego-driven political vanity project disconnected from what Maryland families actually need and the overall efforts of the Democratic party to stop Donald Trump.”
The poll highlights McClain Delaney’s broad and deep support across the district. She has a meaningful lead in every county in the District, among every demographic group, including men, women, and voters of all ages. She is running the board in every metric of electoral strength.
McClain Delaney has also secured the endorsements of Governor Moore, Attorney General Brown, Lt. Governor Miller, Senators Van Hollen and Alsobrooks, Congressman Jamie Raskin, the entire Maryland Democratic congressional delegation, and Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner as well as local leaders and labor unions across the district.
