The ad features Governor Wes Moore, U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks, and Representative Jamie Raskin speaking directly to voters about April’s commitment to standing up for Maryland families and stopping the disastrous Trump agenda.
The ad, which will run on broadcast and cable throughout the district, features Maryland’s most prominent leaders reinforcing April’s strong record of partnership and delivering results for Western Maryland. Senator Chris Van Hollen emphasizes that getting things done requires the kind of teamwork April provides, while Senator Angela Alsobrooks underscores that April is standing up for our kids and our families. Governor Wes Moore highlights April’s record of fighting to lower costs for Marylanders and fight off Trump’s attacks, and Representative Jamie Raskin focuses on April’s efforts to stand with our immigrant communities to block the new ICE detention center in Washington County.

In Congress, McClain Delaney has focused on the issues that matter to Western Maryland. She has held the Trump Administration accountable and led the fight against dangerous executive overreach. She stood with our communities to successfully block a proposed detention facility in the district and fought to address the rising costs of housing, healthcare, and everyday essentials while demanding that billionaires pay their fair share.
The release of “Teamwork” stands in stark contrast to a negative and false attack ad launched this morning by David Trone. In Trone’s attack ad, he is desperately trying to distort the truth to hide his own record. The facts are clear: April McClain Delaney has never voted for a single cent of funding for ICE. In reality, David Trone voted for more than $200 million in ICE funding and is now launching dishonest attacks to distract from his own history of supporting the agency.
“These leaders have worked with Trone in the past and reject his candidacy in favor of April because they have worked side by side with her and have seen her tenacity and effectiveness in fighting Trump,” said Campaign Manager Nick London. “While April is flanked by Governor Moore and the entire Democratic congressional delegation, David Trone is standing alone and lobbing false attacks to cover up his own record of funding the very agencies he now claims to oppose.”
Trone’s decision to run a negative and divisive campaign is as predictable as it is pointless. In 2024, after already spending record sums of money on his floundering senate campaign, Trone began attacking now US Senator Angela Alsobrooks. He’s again following the same playbook, having again spent massive sums of money to still be losing in the polls.
