Gaithersburg, MD – Today, April McClain Delaney, released the following statement on the one year anniversary of the October 7th attacks in Israel.

“One year ago today, Israel endured the deadliest attack against its people since the Holocaust. This tragedy, a modern-day pogrom, came in a country founded on the promise of “never again.”

“As the Jewish New Year marks a time of reflection and introspection, this year is especially painful. Today, we honor the memory of those innocent lives lost and forever changed by the terror of that day. Israel has the right to defend itself, and we stand firmly with our ally, and recommit ourselves to confronting the troubling rise in antisemitism here in our own communities, ensuring that hate has no place in our society.

We must continue our efforts to free the people of Gaza from the grip of Hamas, bring the hostages home, and work toward a path to lasting peace.”
