Every child has the right to a quality education, no matter their circumstances. April is a strong supporter of public education and believes that the federal government should deploy additional resources to support students and educators. Our kids deserve pre-K, lower college tuition, free community college, and free skills training. In conversations across the District, April has heard that adequate funding for excellence and equal access is critical, especially for those with disadvantaged and with marginalized identities.
Resources are slim, educators are stretched, and students are stressed. Meanwhile, nationally, our teachers are under constant partisan attack. In Congress, April will champion public education and educational fairness, and defend our educators.
